Trying to figure out if my car can run on regular gas.?

I read in an article recently that many cars that are suggested to run on premium gas don't have to. I'm trying to figure out if my 1993 Mercedes 300e can run on regular, but haven't a clue where to figure this out. Either a definite answer, or simply a point in the right direction would be much appreciated!
