What kind of cigars are very good, premium cigars?

I am new at smoking cigars,my friends told me to get one just as a congratulatory type of thing. I am wondering if someone can help me out by picking out very good brands out there, I really don't want to get one that is a piece of **** that falls apart and tastes awful. I was told to get cigars at liquor stores just to be safe, but I am just thinking about going to sheetz real quick to purchase one instead. It seems easier and sheetz doesn't seem like one of those shitty ***, crusty pit stops you see when driving down the road. What do you guys think?
